Keep pile first, load second
Before anything moves, what you are keeping goes to one side. Nothing goes on the trailer that you have not looked at.
Junk Removal · Utah County
The one where the car has not fit in years. Everything against the back wall, the shelving it sits on, the tires in the corner and the paint on the top shelf, all gone in a single visit.
A garage is the one space in a house that fills up without anyone deciding to fill it. Everything that did not have a home ended up there, and then the shelving went in to hold it, and then the shelving filled up too. Cleaning it out yourself means deciding about four hundred separate objects in one Saturday, which is why it does not get done.
The job goes faster when someone else is carrying. You point, Tyler loads. Anything you want to keep gets moved to one side first so there is no risk of a keeper going on the trailer.
Garages are also where the mixed material shows up, and that is the part that usually decides the price. Scrap metal, old bikes, wire shelving and dead power tools go to Western Metals or MCR. Tools and hardware still worth using go to Deseret Industries or the ReStore in Orem. Tires and leftover paint cans are counted separately at $5 and up per item.
Most single bay garages come out at half a load, which starts at $350. A packed two or three bay garage is usually a full load, starting at $650. Tires and paint cans are counted on top at $5 and up per item.
Why this job goes to Scrap Solutions
Before anything moves, what you are keeping goes to one side. Nothing goes on the trailer that you have not looked at.
The units holding the clutter are part of the job. Metal shelving is scrap and goes to a recycler rather than the dump.
A garage that has been full for a decade has a decade of dust under it. The floor gets swept before Tyler leaves.
Questions
Most single bay garages are a few hours. A packed two or three bay garage can be most of a day. You get the time estimate with the quote so you can plan around it.
Both are taken and both are counted per item, starting at $5 each, on top of the load price. Full chemical loads are not taken at all, so mention what you have when you call and Tyler will tell you straight away what is in and what is out.
Only the things you are keeping. Put those to one side and the rest is Tyler's problem. Sorting recyclable from donatable from disposal happens after it leaves your driveway.
Yes, if the garage is accessible and you have agreed the price and what is going. Photos, a text and a code is a normal way to run these.
A rough description or a photo is usually enough for a real number.
